From Wrapped Carts to Latte Art: Bringing the "Espresso" Theme to Bid Day
A Custom Bid Day Experience with Alpha Phi Mizzou
Bid Day is one of the biggest moments of the year for Greek life, and this year, Alpha Phi at Mizzou took their celebration to the next level. The theme? Sabrina Carpenter’s "Espresso".
Our designer was thrilled and brought the theme to life. This event was a perfect example of how our in-house design team can turn a concept into a fully immersive experience.
The Client Ask: Aesthetic Perfection and High Energy
Alpha Phi needed a beverage service that could keep up with the excitement of hundreds of new members while staying perfectly "on-theme." Their goals were:
Complete Theme Alignment: Every detail needed to reflect the retro, chic aesthetic of the "Espresso" music video.
High Visual Impact: Since Bid Day is a major social media event, the setup had to be "Instagrammable" to encourage members to share the day online.
Speed and Quality: They needed to serve a large crowd quickly without losing the premium feel of specialty coffee.
Unique Branding: They wanted custom designs that were exclusive to their chapter and this specific event.
Our Solutions: A Fully Curated Design Set
Because we have an in-house design team, we were able to create a cohesive look across every single touchpoint. That mean we didn’t just use standard templates but built an experience from the ground up.
1. The Custom Wrapped Cart
The centerpiece of the event was our mobile coffee cart, which received a full custom wrap. Our designer created a look that matched Alpha Phi’s request of ‘Sabrina Pink’ and retro "Espresso" theme perfectly. This transformed our typical booth from a coffee station to a photo backdrop.
2. Custom Menu and Coffee Sleeves
We believe the details make the difference. So Bean Sprout designed a custom menu featuring themed drink names to get people to play into the fun of the day.
Don’t forget about the custom sleeves–our designer created Alpha Phi a logo inspired by Sabrina’s album font. These sleeves allowed every guest to hold a piece of the branding in their hand, and immerse themselves in the “APHI Cafe” making every cup a promotional tool for the event.
3. Triple-Design Latte Printing
To really "wow" the crowd, we programmed our latte printer with three custom designs. Guests could choose between the Alpha Phi logo, Sabrina Carpenter-inspired graphics, and thematic text. Seeing their sorority’s brand printed directly on their foam was a highlight for many of the new members.
The Impact: A Viral Bid Day Moment
By focusing on high-end branding and professional service, we helped Alpha Phi Mizzou create an event that stood out.
Social Media Reach: The custom cart and latte art were featured in hundreds of photos and videos shared by members, giving the chapter massive organic reach.
Memorable Member Experience: The new members felt celebrated with a high-quality, personalized welcome that went far beyond a standard catering service.
Seamless Execution: Despite the high energy and large crowd, our professional team and dual-station setup kept the line moving and the drinks flowing.
